The Wildcats are proud to have Room Wakefield as this Sunday’s big match sponsor for the visit of Catalans Dragons (kick-off: 3.30pm).
Whilst the majority of the Wildcats match sponsors are local or national businesses, as you’ll discover, Room Wakefield doesn’t fit that particular description.
Many people make room in their homes and lives for children: but what about a child that isn’t your own? Could you open your home and lend a hand?
Some children and young people in Wakefield are unable to live with their own families for a variety of reasons and are in desperate need of a caring, safe and stable environment.
Becoming a foster carer in Wakefield can help to nurture and protect vulnerable children and young people, leaving them with positive memories and the chance to achieve what every child deserves.
This Sunday some of the foster carers and the children they have fostered will be enjoying Sunday’s game in the 1873 Suite as the Wildcats take on Catalans Dragons (kick-off: 3.30pm).
“On a recent visit to Room Wakefield I was saddened to hear that more children needing fostering than they have Foster carers,” said Wildcats Commercial Manager, Martin Hopkins.
“On Sunday we will be joined in the 1873 Suite by some of the fantastic Foster carers and I hope they have a tremendous day.”
Whether it’s fostering for a short period of time while a family get back on their feet or providing a permanent home, your help could change a child or young person’s life experiences for the better. If spare time is an issue for you, carers are also needed in Wakefield to offer temporary care (days and overnight) for children with disabilities so that their parents can get a much-needed break.
