Players from the Wildcats under 18′s and under 20′s Academy joined the first team squad for a first club night of 2012 earlier this week.
The youngsters are all striving to ultimately earn a contract as a full-time professional and on Wednesday they got the chance to train side-by-side with the first team squad.
Head Coach Richard Agar headed up the session alongside Assistant Coach’s James Webster and Glenn Morrison, putting the players through their paces on a variety of different drills in sodden conditions at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School.
Coaching staff from the under 18′s and under 20′s were also part of the night, the first of a number planned for the season to give the aspiring youngsters the opportunity to learn from the club’s first grade players.
The Wildcats Academy has nurtured such talents as Matty Wildie, Kyle Trout, Dale Morton, James Davey and Lucas Walshaw in recent years, all of whom have gone on to make Super League appearances in the famous red, white and blue.
