Wildcats winger Peter Fox has won the first Kitchens by Design Try of the Month Award for his second score against Widnes Vikings in February.
Fox’s second try in the opening round of the campaign took 65% off the Facebook and Twitter votes, beating Tim Smith, Andy Raleigh and Ben Cockayne for the February award.
Steve Webster was one of those to cast his vote for Fox and has won himself a pair of tickets for the home game against Salford City Reds where he will present Fox with his award.
The March competition is now up and running with another four excellent tries to choose from and you can cast your vote via our Facebook page or Twitter account.
Try A – Richard Mathers vs. Warrington
The former Wire full-back took the ball in centre field after a great offload from Paul Johnson and showed a neat step and good footwork to evade the Warrington defence before great determination got him in next to the posts.
Try B – Ben Cockayne vs. Catalan Dragons
Cockayne was the benefactor of some neat short passing from Paul Aiton and Tim Smith with the final ball to Cockayne as well timed as the wingers run and he burst 50 metres to go in under the sticks.
Try C – Danny Kirmond vs. Catalan Dragons
Moved to the centre after Dean Collis was forced off with an injury, Kirmond’s try was one of sheer strength and determination as he carried three Catalans defenders over the line with him.
Try D – Peter Fox vs. Catalan Dragons
With the Wildcats pinned back on their own line a kick on the last fell loose and was swooped upon by Fox who evaded the Dragons defence and raced 95 metres for a memorable try.
