Despite a promising start to the game Wakefield’s under 20’s suffered a 26-6 defeat to their Warrington counterparts.

Adam Slater was one of the first team squad members in the under 20's side.

In a game that saw a number of errors and penalties conceded by both sides Bobbie Goulding kicked 10 points in a convincing win for the visitors.

Glenn Morrison selected nine first teamers in a line up that included the likes of Motu Tony, Dale Morton and Chris Annakin.

The first try of game came from James Saltonstall breaking free to put Danny Birkett through who went over to give the Wolves an early lead.

The home side responded quickly through a try from Ryan Wright as he powered through three men to make the score 6-4.

A penalty presented the  Wolves with a chance to take a half time lead which was taken by Goulding from 40 yards out to give Warrington a 8-6 lead at the break.

The visitors picked up from where they left off in the second half as Brook Broughton took advantage of a clever offload from Goulding to score.

The next try of the game came through neat passes in quick succession from the Wolves seeing Ben Hellewell put Gavin Bennion in to make the score 18-6 to Warrington with Goulding adding the extras.

The home side valiantly fought back with a few sets of pressure on the Wolves goal line however, this led to the final try of the game as a pass by Liam Kay was intercepted by James Mendeika who ran just under half the length of the field to score under the posts.

Goulding converted to see the score finish 26-6 to the Warrington Wolves at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
