Glenn Morrison has stayed loyal to the Wildcats rising stars after naming his squad to compete in the 2012 Rugby League 9’s Finals Night at Headingley tomorrow evening.
The only changes from last week’s squad sees Isaac John and Frankie Mariano left out while James Davey comes into contention in the 16-man-squad. Trinity stormed through the East Division as table toppers after winning 11 games on the bounce including a 22-16 over tomorrow’s hosts and well fancied Leeds Rhinos.
Last week’s festival saw a chance for Mariano to show off his skills and he did enough to convince head coach Richard Agar to recall the second-rower to the first team in the defeat at Bradford where he scored a try. With just two withdrawals from last week Finals Night, once again the format gives supporters a chance to witness potential first team regulars in their specially designed Club 1873 kit.
Club 1873 was set-up to raise money for the Wildcats well renowned youth structure and to help bring academy hopefuls through to Super League, full-time professionals. The Nines is seen as a great way to blood young talent with a number of players impressing in the tournament so far including captain Matty Wildie, full-back Jordan Grayston and winger Sam Fletcher.
The action gets underway from 6pm as hosts Leeds face London before Wakefield look to reach the semi-finals by beating quarter final opponents Cumbria which starts at 6:20pm.
