Wakefield Trinity’s popular furry friend entertains the Wildcats crowd on matchdays at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium as well as being a regular around the district as he joins the Wildcats Community Trust team on their various projects.

Ever since last Sunday’s game against Wigan Warriors, he will now do so in a specially made home shirt that features the Room in Wakefield logo and their contact details.

Room in Wakefield promotes the need for foster carers and adopters in the district for babies, children and young people who are unable to live with their own families for a variety of different reasons.

Whether it’s fostering for a short period of time while a family get back on their feet or providing a  permanent home, Room in Wakefield  looks for foster carers  and adopters who can offer children and young people a loving, secure and stable home. Fostering and adoption can be a positive experience that can transform a child or young person’s life experiences for the better.

It’s not only full time carers they are looking for, with the opportunity to provide temporary care for children with disabilities so that their parents can get a much-needed break.

Cllr Olivia Rowley, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for Children and Young People, said: “There are many children in the district that need to be adopted and looked after, but there are not enough foster carers or adopters coming forward. It is important that we get the message out about what a positive experience fostering and adoption can be and the difference it can make to children and young people lives.

“It is great that by working closely with the club, we can push this message across to the local community and hopefully make a huge difference to young people and children in our district that need help.”

Wildcats General Manager, Davide Longo commented: “Room in Wakefield have been match sponsors twice already this season and it’s an ideal link-up for them to sponsor Daddy Cool who plays a big role in the work the club does in the community.

“It will provide them with fantastic exposure and we’re delighted to be working so closely with an organisation that can help change lives for children and young people in the area.”

This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
