There are just two weeks until the start of the Wildcats ‘Going for Gold’ Olympic camp and with the five day event leading up to the opening ceremony of the London Olympic Games what better time than to celebrate the start of the summer holidays.

The Olympic torch came through Wakefield earlier in the year.

Monday 23rd July is when the sports, arts and culture activities get underway to promote the Olympic values. Various workshops will be taking place across the week with each day specialised in a specific attribute.

Monday kicks things off with friendship being the key concept before sessions on courage, determination, inspiration and excellence round off the week run by the award winning Wildcats Community Trust team in partnership with the New Life Christian Centre.

The cost is just £40 for the camp which is run between 10am – 3pm each day and gives all children the chance to have a half time parade around the Wakefield Vs Leeds game on Monday 30th July which is live on Sky Sports. All children do receive a free complimentary ticket for the game after taking part in the ‘Going for Gold’ Olympic week.

The camp is open for 6-11 year olds of all abilities and takes place at Mackie Hill Primary Schools.

If you would like to book onto the Wildcats ‘Going for Gold’ Olympic camp then please contact the Wildcats Community team on 01924 211611 or visit our retail outlets either in the Ridings Centre or the Rapid Solicitors Box Office.
