Monday night rugby league comes to the Wildcats for the first time tonight with World Champions Leeds Rhinos in town.
Richard Agar’s men triumphed last time out against Huddersfield Giants and now face a second of three successive West Yorkshire derby clashes as the Challenge Cup finalists arrive at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
But there’s more than just the game to look forward to this evening. Frances Wood, finalist in BBC1’s The Voice, will be performing live from 7.35pm to get the atmosphere building ahead of the 8pm kick-off.
As always there will be performances from the Wildcat Dolls and Wildcat Kittens, with no fewer than fourteen amateur clubs involved on the pitch before the game and there will be a special Olympic involvement just days after the start of the London 2012 games.
All that plus the Wildcats will wear a one-off kit to help raise funds and awareness for local charity, Wakefield Hospice. Instead of the traditional red, white and blue, Danny Kirmond will lead out the Wildcats in the green and yellow colours of the Hospice, with the Fi-ta manufactured shirts going on auction in the days after the game.
2013 membership prices will also be announced at the game ahead of going on sale from Tuesday morning.
There is also a chance for you to get your hands on some rugby league memorabilia in Cats Bar after the game, with the below amongst the items going under the hammer.
2010 Grand Final Programme signed by Wigan Squad
2011 Signed Leeds Rhinos Shirts
2011 Signed Saint Helens Shirts
2009 Signed Warrington Challenge Cup Final Shirt
Monday night rugby league is coming to the Wildcats and we want you to be a part of it. The players can’t hear you cheering for them if you’re watching at home, so make sure you are at the game to make your support count.
Buy your tickets from the Ridings Centre Store, the Rapid Solicitors Stadium Box Office, by calling 01924 201548 or buy online.
* The club will be holding a minute’s silence for John Lindley when St. Helens visit the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on August 12th. The club requested this be held before tonight’s game but the RFL turned down the request due to the game being on Sky Sports.
