THREE CHANGES TO 19-MAN SQUAD

posted on 20 July 2012

Wildcats head coach Richard Agar has made three changes to his 19-man squad ahead of Sunday’s visit to the Galpharm to face Huddersfield.

Dean Collis has returned to the 19-man squad in one of three changes made by Richard Agar.

Centre Dean Collis and second-rower Frankie Mariano return after collarbone and groin injuries respectively and hooker Andy Ellis will play after being recalled from his loan at Featherstone. The main absentee is that of Paul Aiton who is out with a broken jaw while Isaac John misses out on selection too.

Youngster Lucas Walshaw will not feature in the first team but will instead play the Giants under 20’s tomorrow with Agar keen for Walshaw to get more game time under his belt.

“Dean is back and Frankie is available too,” confirmed Agar.

“Frankie has been very punctuated all year and he has being back on the training field all week, he is in the 19-man squad but whether he makes the cut for the bench or not we will decide closer to the game.

“Dean will come back in and Danny Kirmond will revert back to second-row while Lucas Walshaw has dropped out of the 19 that played Wigan, he will play in the 20’s. I think it’s important Lucas has been getting games here and there and he has done really well in some short stints.

“We have to get him playing to a level where we can get a few more minutes out of him and he can sustain performances for a bit longer. We will look to play him for a fairly lengthy stint, as long as we possibly can in the 20’s this weekend.”
