Wakefield FC will kick-off their 2012/13 Evo-Stick Division 1 North campaign at the home of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
The Bears will have the Rapid Solicitors Stadium as their home for the opening fixtures of the campaign which gets underway on Sunday 19th August at 3pmwhen they welcome Skelmersdale United to the Merrie city.
A first district derby of the season takes place on Monday 27th August when Ossett Town make the short trip to face Paul Lines’ men whilst Ossett Albion visit on Saturday 9th September for another of the appetising local clashes.
The link-up between the two clubs will see Wildcats Gold Members able to watch their local football club for just £5 adults and £3 juniors, saving on the usual admission price of £8 adults and £5 juniors.
Wildcats Chief Executive, James Elston was delighted that two of the cities sporting clubs have come together.
“It’s great to be able to welcome Wakefield FC to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium and I’m sure their fans will enjoy coming here and the players will enjoy playing on one of the best surfaces in professional sport,” said Elston.
“Together We Are Stronger has become closely associated with the Wildcats over the last eighteen months and by working with Wakefield FC we’re making for a stronger sporting Wakefield.
“We’re pleased to be supporting the Bears and we hope the Rapid Solicitors Stadium can be a lucky venue for them and they can enjoy a successful campaign.”
Wakefield FC Chief Executive Simon Turfrey is also delighted at the tie up between the cities clubs and hopes that this will see a turn of fortunes for the football side.
“Running a Non league football club is getting harder and harder especially in the current economic climate so the tie up with the Wildcats is a godsend for us, the facilities are magnificent, we are very grateful to all at the club for their vision of Together We Are Stronger.”
This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
