WILKES TO MISS DERBY DAY

posted on 1 August 2012

Wildcats prop Oliver Wilkes will miss Sunday’s derby day against Castleford Tigers after being banned by the RFL disciplinary committee.

Oliver Wilkes has been hit with a one match ban.

Wilkes was charged with a reckless tackle on Rob Burrow in Monday’s win over Leeds Rhinos and handed a one match ban and £300 fine.

Whilst Wilkes will miss the game, Wakefield are set to welcome back Ali Lauitiiti from his suspension, with the former Leeds Rhino set to appear in his 200th first grade game in the UK, a feat that will also be matched by Richard Mathers.

Brent Webb was charged with a reckless high tackle on Danny Kirmond in the early stages of the game and was hit with a two game ban.

Tickets for Sunday’s derby decider are on sale now and all the details can be found HERE.
