AGAR MAKES ONE CHANGE TO SQUAD FOR PLAY-OFF SHOWDOWN

posted on 13 September 2012

Wildcats head coach Richard Agar has made just one change to the 19-man squad for the trip to Headingley to face Leeds Rhinos in the elimination play-off on Saturday night.

Richard Agar makes one change to 19-man squad to face champions.

Young centre Danny Cowling comes in to replace Matt James who drops out from the squad that beat Salford 42-34 at Leigh. Ali Lauitiiti who didn’t play against the Reds due to feeling unwell is added to the 17 along with Cowling who performed impressively against St. Helens earlier this season.

In the first week of the play-offs Trinity know they have to win or they will be eliminated from the competition and the season of vast progression will come to an end. The opponents couldn’t be much tougher with the Rhinos winning four of the last five Grand Finals, including last year but Agar is boosted by keeping consistency in his selection.

“We have everybody fit and healthy in a confident mood so that’s all you can ask for going into the play-offs,” said the head coach.

“It goes without saying Ali will come straight back into the team but Kyle Trout in his performance last weekend gave himself a shout in playing this week and I am serious about that. I thought there was a couple of blokes that under performed at the weekend in the middle and he will get strong consideration for selection this week.”

1. Richard Mathers

2. Peter Fox

3. Dean Collis
