The Under 18’s will be looking to finish a difficult season on a high in the local derby which gets under way at 8pm at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium. The academy side have won two of their seven home fixtures this season including an impressive 52-0 victory over South Wales Scorpions.

More importantly the youngsters have had some impressive individual performances to help their development up to the next level. Ben Shulver has seen his outstanding displays rewarded with the Coaches Player and Players Player of the Year awards and has since featured for Glenn Morrison’s Under 20’s, including scoring a try against the Tigers on Saturday. Fellow prop James Healy was the 2012 Man of Steel for the age group for his consistent performances made him a star performer.

Meanwhile, Morrison’s men face a trip to Langtree Park on Saturday, kick off 12:30pm where they take on St. Helens, a team they have already beaten earlier this season away from home. Trinity won 25-16 as a curtain raiser to the first team’s game in Merseyside with Saints winning the reverse game 34-29 at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

These fixtures will give supporters a fantastic opportunity to see where money is going from Club 1873 as all money raised through the clubs lottery goes towards improving the clubs youth development programme. Players such as Danny Cowling, Kyle Trout and Lucas Walshaw have impressed during the 2012 season, featuring in Richard Agar’s first team plans through impressing in the Under 20’s.
