Wakefield winger Peter Fox has told Wildcats TV he is eager to build on the 2012 campaign after Trinity produced an eighth place finish before being knocked out of the play-offs by eventual champions Leeds Rhinos.

Peter Fox says the Wildcats will be working even harder for a successful 2013.

The Wildcats number 2 scored 14 tries and finished in sixth position in the entire Super League metres chart after gaining an incredible 3,047 metres in the 27 weekly rounds in his first year since returning from Hull KR where he enjoyed four years.

Fox was an ever present in Richard Agar’s first season at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium and in a taster with his interview which you can see in full HERE, the flier has his attention firmly on improving on a solid first season.

“We still have to work hard and we can’t think that we did well last year and sit back,” he told Wildcats TV.

“We have to turn it up a bit and work even harder and we’ve got the advantage of the experience of the year together so we can put that into our back pocket and hopefully kick off with a good start to the year.

“We have to carry on our momentum, I was disappointed because I thought we had a chance of beating Leeds but I think their individual brilliance probably did us in the end.  As a team I thought we were better but we have to keep plodding along and take each game as it comes.

“I think I’ve had one of the best years of my career but I have to build on that and take it into next year. I can’t just sit one good year, I want three good years. I have two more years here so I want to perform and next year I will hopefully do that.

You can watch the full interview HERE as the 27-year-old explains how the home crowds lifted the players to show the importance of purchasing your 2013 Gold Memberships while discussing his healthy rivalry with fellow wing man Ben Cockayne and a look back at the season just gone and much more.

With ‘Foxy’ signed up for 2013 to add to the permanent deal for Paul Sykes and contract extensions for a number of the clubs standout performers including Tim Smith, Paul Aiton and Ali Lauitiiti there is no better time to be a Wildcat, have you bought your Gold Membership yet?
