Wakefield Wildcats Touch Rugby League campaign has came to an end and the congratulations go to Colts 93 for winning League One and The Inbetweeners who topped League Two.

The Inbetweeners were winners of Division 2 of the Social League in their first year as a team.

The competition has been running every Wednesday for the last 10 weeks and despite the difficult weather conditions faced by all 12 teams, it was yet another successful season at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

Over 100 people took to the famous pitch every week to Play Touch Rugby League as the Wildcats Community Trust continue to work hard to get more and more people involved with the great game of rugby league.

It is the fifth year running Trinity has hosted the Touch League and with a number of new and returning sides making the competition fierce.  Two separate leagues were played at the home of the Wildcats as a ‘Serious’ League was followed by a ‘Social’ League, providing varying amounts of competition.

After finishing runners up in the Serious League Colts 93 dusted themselves down and won the Social League after winning nine out of their 10 games, including a 8-1 victory over Sessle’s Seagulls in the last round of fixtures.

In the second Social League The Inbetweeners crowned off a successful season by beating Wakefield CRL 5-0 and finished top of the table.

The Wildcats Community Team are also launching an indoor Touch League that starts on Monday 8th October at Wakefield Football Centre with six teams that are already in place. Those teams are Colts 93, Barmy Army, Das and Lads, Cobra Kai’s, Bombardiers and Wakefield CRL.

Touch rugby is a great way to enjoy the sport without the contact and hard hitting of the sport, plus is a great way to keep fit and meet new people with a love of the sport.
