WILDCATS OPEN 2013 SEASON WITH VISIT TO BRADFORD

posted on 19 November 2012

Wakefield Wildcats will open up their 2013 season away to Bradford Bulls on Sunday 3rd February before hosting Hull KR on Saturday 9th February – live on Sky.

Wildcats start their campaign at the Provident Stadium.

The full fixture list has been confirmed with 2013 coming to a dramatic conclusion when the Wildcats host rivals Castleford in the final regular game of the year on Sunday 8th September which is the return fixture from the Good Friday derby at the Probiz Coliseum, home of the Tigers.

The Easter schedule is completed with a home fixture against Hull FC and after the dramatic 32-30 victory at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium in 2012 it will be just one of the 27 eagerly anticipated clashes throughout the year.

Richard Agar and his team make the two longest trips of the season in the first three away games after the clash at the Provident Stadium, Trinity travel to the capital to face London Broncos on Sunday 17th February before flying to the South of France on Saturday 2nd March to challenge Catalan Dragons.

After last week’s announcement that the Magic Weekend will remain in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium for the next two years it is now confirmed a third derby of the season will take place on Saturday 25th May and as the Wildcats look to defeat Ian Millward’s team once again at the landmark weekend.

Other standout fixtures to lookout for include the Super League champions Leeds Rhinos visiting the home of the Wildcats on Friday 22nd March while the red, white and blue faithful make the short trip to Headingley on Friday 19th July.

The 18th season of Super League will also be the second year of Monday night Rugby League after the success of its introduction this year. Wakefield have already been selected for three Monday night fixtures including the visit to Hull FC on Monday 1st July.
