Wakefield Wildcats Community Trust have once again been working closely with New College Pontefract to deliver touch rugby sessions which culminated in a 10-team league this week.

Danny Washbrook, Frankie Mariano and Peter Fox were in attendance for the finals.

The programme has been running for the last four weeks and has been delivered to post 16 year old students by the Wildcats community team and students themselves as part of their role as sports leaders.

All of the 10 teams have had two sessions each coached by Dan Hardy or Richard Cattley from the Trust with the Wildcats trio of Danny Washbrook, Frankie Mariano and Peter Fox on hand to help with the finals and a photo opportunity with around 150 students.

All teams were mixed with a minimum of two girls per team which were formed from tutor groups with the green team running out eventual winners in an action packed day at New College Pontefract.

The four week training programme was just a small part of the work by the Wildcats community department and more information about playing touch will be announced in the New year.
