The Wakefield Wildcats Community Trust have now added a fantastic piece of memorabilia to their Ebay site, the James Evans 2006 playing shirt which he scored two tries in the Million Pound Match is now up for auction.
The Trust have decided to raise crucial funds by auctioning off memorabilia to go towards helping them carry out more of the fantastic they do within the District in making a positive difference to people’s lives.
The shirt worn by Evans is an excellent piece of memorabilia and was part of one of the most famous moments in the history of Trinity. The 2006 season was a struggle on the pitch for the club which resulted in a winner takes all ‘Million Pound Game’ against Castleford where the loser would face relegation.
The Wildcats went on to win 29-17 at Belle Vue in front of a sell-out crowd of 11,000 with Australian centre James Evans scoring two crucial tries to safeguard the future of the club.
As seen celebrating in the picture above, Evans played a pivotal role in securing Wakefield’s Super League status and the shirt worn from that day is being auctioned off to raise crucial funds for the Wildcats Community Trust.
That’s not the only new item as Ryan Tongia’s 2011 playing shirt is up for auction. Tongia joined the Wildcats towards the end of the 2011 season and despite his short stay with the club he became a fans favourite. The outside back made four Super League appearances while scoring two tries in his short but sweet stay in West Yorkshire.
Whether you want to frame the shirts at home, at your business, rugby club or even wear as a special memento wouldn’t it be great to say you own a shirt once worn by a Wildcat.
Don’t forget 2011 home and away playing shorts are now on the Ebay site for the ‘Buy It Now’ option for £20.
