Excitement is building for the return of Super League to Wakefield this Saturday, but there’s lots more going on too including the opening of the new Wildcats Fanzone.

The Wildcats Fanzone will open for the first time on Saturday.

Located behind the Eric France East Stand in the north-east corner of the Stadium, the Fanzone is the place where the whole family can enjoy themselves before Britain’s Got Talent finalists Loveable Rogues perform live and the big game kicks off at 5.45pm.

Members of the first team squad will be around for you to chat to and Daddy Cool will be there to entertain the kids.  There’s live music, a bouncy castle, face painting and the chance to buy your Wildcats merchandise so you’re decked out in the red, white and blue for the big game.

The Wildcats Kittends will be performing; Ossett fire station will be there with one of their fire engines; Real Radio and Benfield Toyota will also be in the new Fanzone giving you plenty to see and do before heading into the stadium to enjoy Loveable Rogues singing live and the big game itself.

The Fanzone will open at 3pm ahead of a full stadium opening at 4pm, so arrive early to enjoy your fantastic family night out at the Wildcats.

Sarah Elston, Projects & Events Manager, says the Fanzone is a great addition to the Wildcats matchdays and is sure it’ll be a hit with supporters.

“We’ve looked a lot into how we can improve the fan experience at matches and the Fanzone is something that we’re sure will ensure supporters enjoy their time at the Wildcats even more.

“There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained before the game itself and the Fanzone is something that will get better and better as the season goes on, so we hope plenty of fans come and give it a try this weekend and then let us know their feedback.”

As well as the Fanzone, there’s much more taking place at Saturday’s big matchday.  There’s 16 junior amateur team playing on the pitch, Wildcats DVD’s being shown before and after the game in Cats Bar and at half-time Daddy Cool and Rufus the Robin will go head-to-head on the pitch.

All that and the thrilling 80 minutes of Super League action under the floodlights make it a great Saturday night’s entertainment!

Tickets are on sale with a fantastic adult and junior ticket available for just £25 if you buy before Saturday.  Adult tickets are just £20 and juniors £10 if you buy before matchday, with prices going up on the gate so it saves you money to get your tickets before the day.

You can buy in either of our retail stores at Trinity Walk or the Ridings Centre, at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium Box Office or online.
