Wildcats supporters now have the opportunity to vote for their brand new Sandal Post Office Try of the Month for February and win a pair of tickets for a home fixture.
The competition has a new sponsor for 2013 and features a vast array of outstanding scores from the first month of the season.
Sandal Post Office have extended their sponsorship with the Wildcats to include the competition that provides lots of interest amongst the Wakefield supporters. The Post Office already sponsor Dean Collis throughout the current campaign, just like they did in 2012.
Situated on Barnsley Road, the post office is now open all day Saturday following a major refurbishment and an upgrade to a Main Branch which has resulted in a brighter and better environment for customers. That means the shop is open from 9am to 5.30pm six days a week and the new opening times are a real benefit to customers. Business has increased off the back of being a partner with the Wildcats.
The Post Office is an integral part of the local community where you can buy all of your usual items such as car tax, letters and parcels, foreign currency, broadband / home phone, travel and financial services.
The first month of the new competition is now available to vote with it being narrowed down to six contenders that are revealed below. Everybody that selects the winning score will go into the hat to win two tickets for a Wildcats home game. You can catch the six contenders on Wildcats TV HERE.
A. Dean Collis v Bradford Bulls – The Wildcats centre picked up a loose ball 22 metres from his own line and outpaced Jarrod Sammut to the Bulls line for a consolation score at the Provident Stadium.
B. Peter Fox v Hull KR – This try was all down to the guile of the Wakefield skipper Danny Kirmond. The second-rower burst through the Rovers defence and charged forward 30 metres before expertly kicking the ball off the outside of his right boot into the in-goal area for Fox to dive on to score.
C. Ben Cockayne’s 2nd v Hull KR – The former Robin finished a nice move in the corner after the ball went through four pairs of hands before the winger scored. Lauitiiti offloaded to Lyne before drawing in the KR man to set Cockayne free.
D. Ben Cockayne’s 1st v London Broncos – The number five had his name on the scoreboard in under a minute. Reece Lyne shrugged off two challenges in his own half before racing through and teeing up Cockayne to open the scoring.
E. Ben Cockayne’s 2nd v London Broncos – The Wildcats fourth try at the Stoop was an outstanding effort which consisted four offloads on the way to Cockayne on the left wing. Once again Lauitiiti and Lyne combined well to set the winger free to score.
F. Lee Smith v Huddersfield Giants – Smith scored on his first appearance of 2013 after he passed outside to Cockayne before the winger shuffled down the wing before kicking the ball with his left boot in field as the centre picked up a favourable bounce to score.
