Wildcats head coach Richard Agar has selected his squad to host Salford this Sunday and has added three players following the 29-22 defeat in Catalan, including Reece Lyne who returns from a pectoral injury.
2012 Wildcats Players’ and Coaches’ Player of the year Andy Raleigh misses out through a knee ligament injury while Oliver Wilkes and Vince Mellars are also included in the 19-man squad to take on the Reds on Sunday, kick-off 3.30pm.
The Rapid Solicitors Stadium will be the venue for the sixth round of Super League action with Frankie Mariano fit to play after receiving a bang to the head in France. Lyne returns after missing the last two weeks through injury and could make his comeback this weekend.
Agar spoke to the local media ahead of the Salford game and gave an injury update looking ahead.
“Mariano is fine and Andy Raleigh will miss a couple of weeks, he’s got a slight knee ligament injury. He has had a brace on but he may be in contention next week, if not the week after.
“It’s a minor strain in there and he’ll miss a couple of weeks which is a blow for us, I felt we missed him last week because we lost him after 15 minutes.
“Andy is a guy that can do phenomenal amount of game time and gives you the same performance week-in, week-out and I thought we really missed that in the middle, particularly towards the end of the game last week.
“Danny (Kirmond) has had an operation and we’ll expect him back for the games at Easter and I can’t see much change between now and then that it will speed up any more than that.”
