Wildcats head coach Richard Agar can call on a fully fit squad for the first time in 2013 after five key, senior players have returned from injury and are in his 19-man squad for Friday’s derby against Castleford.

Tim Smith will be looking to grasp his comeback with two hands.

Wakefield travel to the Wish Communications Stadium on Good Friday for an 8pm kick-off looking to make it three consecutive years of gaining victory on the Tigers home patch. Castleford are without a win in their last six games having only beat Leeds Rhinos so far this campaign while Trinity are just two points better off with a game in hand.

Justin Poore and Ali Lauitiiti could be joined by captain Danny Kirmond, Wakefield Wizard Tim Smith and 2012 Player of the Year Andy Raleigh for the crunch rivalry with Ian Millward’s Castleford. Poore and Lauitiiti were expected to feature last weekend against Leeds before the postponement which has given them an extra weeks training.

Agar has been speaking ahead of Thursday’s pre-match press conference and has given the Wildcats supporters a boost leading into Friday.

“The postponement of the Leeds game has given us a chance for some of the guys that have been missing a chance to get a full weeks training under their belt and should leave us going into the Castleford game a bit fresher. We’ll have to see how that pans out, ideally we would have liked to have got the game on Friday.

“Having said that playing Sunday on a Friday turnaround with another game on Monday is a very heavy workload, we’ll have to catch it up and play that again at some point in the year. We’ll see on Friday if that’s done us a favour or not.

“We knew they were short term injuries with Kirmo (Danny Kirmond) being the longest one that we’ve had after a little bit of surgery. We are picking from a fully fit full strength squad this week so that’s a bonus for us because those players are very, very important for our team and it will be good to get them back.”
