Wildcats prop Oliver Wilkes has been speaking to Wildcats TV ahead of tomorrow’s crunch clash against the Rhinos at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

Oliver Wilkes previews the game on Wildcats TV.

The number 16 was singled out by Wakefield head coach Richard Agar as one of the best performers in the spirited defeat to St. Helens as the Wildcats missed five key senior men.

Ali Lauitiiti and Justin Poore are set to return tomorrow night (kick-off 8pm) and as a preview to the interview which you can see in full HERE, Wilkes says Trinity have a stronger squad to cope with injuries than previous years.

“We’ve got a squad and that’s what it’s there for, the guys that are coming in can do good jobs and there’s a few guys been introduced to quite a bit of first team this year like Chris Annakin and Kyle Trout.

“They’re both doing fantastic jobs and we’ve Kyle Wood in the halves which is his natural position and he’s relishing that so as one door closes for one another one opens.

“I think last year there was a few and no disrespect to them individuals but they weren’t going to get a look in.

“This year everybody in the squad is able to play and can do a job so if you drop your game you lose out as I found out a few weeks ago. I was off the boil, missed a game and someone else came in and did a fantastic job and luckily for me somebody got injured otherwise I could have been sat on the side lines for a few weeks.”

The fixture will bring back memories from the 38-18 victory over the Super League champions in 2012 and the front-rower knows what to expect from Brian McDermott’s men.

“They are always exciting games against Leeds and the last four times we’ve played them they’ve been close games and I think its 6 times we’ve played them in the last 18 months so we know a lot about them.

“We know what they are going to bring so bring on tomorrow and hopefully we can get the two points.

“We have a game plan in place and Agar has put structures in place and I’m sure if we stick to that, do our jobs then the score will look after its self.”
