In their second game of the season so far the Wakefield under 16’s Scholars achieved a comfortable win against Hull Kingston Rovers at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
A Harry Swan hat-trick and a great game in front of the sticks for Tom Megretton helped the Wildcats on their way to a 52-10 victory.
An error filled first five minutes saw the Wildcats defending on their own line against some great pressure from Hull KR, however the home side repelled the opposition and shortly afterwards Jordan Crowther capitalised on a dropped ball to score the first of the Wildcats nine tries.
The Wildcats continued in the same manner, great football on show and some great team play put Swan over the whitewash twice, plus with tries from Kieran Holt and Max Jowitt Wakefield went into half-time with a 30-0 score line over the Rovers.
The Robins started the second half at a great pace with a fantastic forty metre break straight from kick-off by the fullback Corey Sanderson, with the Wildcats put straight on the back foot, Macauley Kelsey scored a very well taken try on the wing to bring the score line to 30-4.
A period of scrappy play and a lot of errors from both sides gave tries to both the Wildcats and the Rovers, with Aiden Kay for the home side and Kieran Moran for the visitors both crossing the whitewash to make the score 36-10.
Wakefield then put the game to bed with tries from Megretton, Jowitt and Swan. Megretton missed only one of his nine possible conversions ending the game 52-10.
