The Wildcats lottery scheme Club 1873 is all set to expand in the coming months after Anthony Summers has been appointed the new Lottery Manager.

Anthony Summers is the new Club 1873 Lottery Manager.

The vital department helps raise funds for the Wildcats youth development project which has seen Chris Annakin sign a new contract recently as well as academy graduate Ben Shulver signing his first full-time professional deal.

Club 1873 was founded just under two years ago and has turned into a fundamental part of the club. It is set to evolve over the next 12-months to give members extra benefits as well as providing the Wildcats with further opportunity to attract, nurture and retain the best talent in West Yorkshire.

Anthony started work at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium this week where he joined from Stockport County Football Club. He was in charge of the County lottery but he also has years of selling experience behind him having also worked at Blackpool FC and in telesales.

His job will mainly revolve around selling the fantastic lottery scheme to supporters of Trinity and the public of Wakefield by door-to-door selling, recruiting canvassers to join forces to help Club 1873 and much more.

He commented: “This is a huge opportunity and challenge for me at Wakefield and I am really looking forward to getting my feet under the table and I feel there is plenty of untapped potential in Club 1873.

“I am very keen to listen to the Wildcats supporters and their views on how the lottery is currently run so I can begin to improve Club 1873 from a fans perspective.

Wildcats General Manager Davide Longo added:

“We’re really pleased to welcome Anthony to the club.  The Lottery Managers position is a something of a niche role and to bring someone in who has experience in the field is great for us and can only help Club 1873 develop.

“We’ve started to see the benefits of Club 1873 with the signings of Ben Shulver and the new contract for Chris Annakin and we’re sure now that with Anthony in position we’ll be able to push this on even further and fans will see the benefits both to them as individuals and also to the club’s youth development.”

Club 1873 costs just £2 a week with daily, weekly, matchday and half-yearly prizes it is a great way to financially support the club while benefiting yourself.

You can email Anthony at and follow @Club1873 on Twitter for news and winners which will include any updates or changes as Club 1873 is expected to evolve over the coming months.
