BRUT, the iconic male grooming brand, are on the hunt to find the ultimate rugby league fan who has served their community in the BRUT Fan of Pride campaign.
The campaign is running across all 14 Super League teams with each club crowning their very own Fan of Pride. The Wakefield Wildcats winner will go forward to represent their club in the national competition, with the overall BRUT Fan of Pride winner announced in September.
BRUT aim to celebrate the Super League fan and each club’s community, highlighting the importance of the fans, the fantastic atmosphere that they create and the role they have in their local area.
Richard Mathers was chosen by his club to be the Wakefield Wildcats Fan of Pride player ambassador because of the work he does raising money for St. Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds, which supports people with terminal illnesses. He has also recently joined the Forty-20 Yorkshire Men’s League committee in a part-ambassadorial role – aiming to publicise the league and raise awareness for the clubs that do a superb and vital job in their communities.
Mathers embodies the values represented by the BRUT Fan of Pride Award and is delighted to be part of the judging panel to find Wakefield Wildcats’ Fan of Pride.
Anyone can be nominated into the competition, with entries closing at midnight on 9th June and shortlists being announced for each club on Father’s Day (16th June). Mathers will sit on a panel of judges to select the Wakefield Wildcats Fan of Pride shortlist, alongside a local journalist and a key community member.
So whether it is a local coach or dad/mum who takes training come rain or shine, the club janitor, or the oldest, most loyal supporter who attends every home game, BRUT wants to hear about the great contributions the fans make and looks forward to nominations throughout May and June.
BRUT for Men’s Eoin Mullen said: “As a proud partner of the Super League BRUT recognises the tight-knit nature of the communities and the loyal fans that support the 14 clubs. Through Fan of Pride we will celebrate these fans – those who not only support their team, but give back in their local area.
“The BRUT Fan of Pride winners will receive a fantastic range of prizes including Super League season tickets, a money-can’t-buy-experience to train with a club of their choice, an invitation to the end of season Super League Man of Steel Awards and, of course, a range of fantastic BRUT product.”
Nominations for BRUT’s Fan of Pride can be made online at www.brutformen.co.uk/superleague or you can pick up an entry form from the Rapid Solicitors Stadium Box office.
Entries close at midnight on the 9th June 2013.
The overall national BRUT Fan of Pride 2013 will be announced and awarded in September, with the overall winner receiving two season tickets to their Super League club and a money-can’t-buy opportunity to train with their team.
