Head coach Richard Agar was fairly happy with the 46-14 win over the London Broncos saying that is was very much job done.

Richard Agar was satisfied with aspects of his teams display against London Broncos.

You can listen to Agar’s press conference HERE as he tells the media of his satisfaction with the comfortable victory.

“I was pleased with our first half performance which set it up nicely, undoubtedly the intensity dropped out of our game for a 20 minute period in the second half but we managed to regain it a little bit towards the latter stages and come home strong.

“Our first half display did the job for us and while we’re a bit disappointed we didn’t get the 80 minute performance, we still got the job done.”

The Wildcats dominated the first 40 minutes taking a 30-4 advantage into the interval thanks to tries from Peter Fox, Richard Mathers, Paul Sykes and a double from Danny Kirmond, who would go on to complete his hat-trick in the final 40.

The second half was a more even contest but Trinity still came away with an easy victory as Agar paid tribute to the build up work of his team.

“We moved the ball about well and made some inroads. Some of the tries we scored were fairly simple close range efforts but if you look at the build up work that went before those tries, you would say that was probably the highlight of the way we played that first half.”

Agar also sang the praises of Lee Smith after the game saying his accurate kicking helped gain some important territory for his team.

“We kicked the ball well; we did some simple parts of the game well with Lee Smith’s goal kicking, touch finders and long raking kicks putting us in some terrific positions. Some of our tries were fairly simple ones but I thought we did some very good ground work in the lead up to them.”
