With Christmas just around the corner, why not treat your rugby league mad loved ones to a calendar featuring their favourite players that leaves little to the imagination?
Andy Raleigh has rallied his fellow teammates and encouraged them to strip off for a 2014 calendar, all in aid of the prop’s testimonial and a youth cancer charity.
Raleigh has been granted a three-month testimonial from the Rugby Football League based on his 13-year rugby league career which has seen him play for Sheffield Eagles, Hull KR, Huddersfield Giants and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, as well as his contributions to the local community, media and charity work. He also represented Great Britain in Australia and New Zealand in 2000, while a student at University of Newcastle, and played in Russia representing England students in 2001.
The double-sided calendar will appeal to both male and female audiences, with black and white, scantily clad shots of players on one side, based on Wakefield’s mining heritage, with many of the photographs taken at the city’s famous National Mining Museum, supplemented with action, playing shots on the other side.
Raleigh is no stranger to stripping off for charity calendars. Having been the ambassador of the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust for the last seven years, he has appeared in three of the charity’s calendars. He has pledged to donate 25% of the calendar profits to the Trust, which is the UK’s only charity that raises funds for research into cancers affecting young people between the ages of 13 and 24, as well as providing support for young patients in hospital.
So if you’re looking for a Christmas present for your friends or family and would like to get your hands on a copy of this limited edition testimonial calendar, they will be on sale at all Wildcats retail shops and the National Coal Mining Museum from the start of December. You can also pre-order them online at http://www.lauracranetrustshop.org/index.php/default/calendars.html.
