The Wildcats have strengthened their squad for 2014 with the signings of both Jimmy Keinhorst and Luke Briscoe from Leeds Rhinos on season-long loan deals.

They become the seventh and eighth new faces to link-up with Trinity for the new campaign and will join former teammates Paul McShane and Richard Moore at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

German international Keinhorst joins with 15 Super League appearances under his belt having made his debut against Wakefield, whilst Briscoe will be hoping to earn a first grade debut during his spell under Richard Agar.

The Trinity head coach is pleased to have added more options to his backline.

“We felt as though we need some competition for places and Leeds have got an embarrassment of riches in the backs which gives Jimmy the chance to come and play first grade and get some experience.

“He’s had some good experience so far and played in some big games and whatever level he’s played at, he looks like a player who can get you a try.

“Luke is a strong, natural footballer who can play anywhere in the backline and can slot into the back-row if required. He’ll add depth to the squad and I anticipate him playing first grade this season.”

Rhinos head coach, Brian McDermott, added:”Jimmy and Luke are exciting prospects for the future and the chance to play in Super League this season is a great opportunity for both of them.

“Jimmy showed last season that he has the ability to play regularly in Super League whilst Luke had a strong game on Boxing Day against Wakefield. We will continue to monitor both of their progress throughout the season.”

This is Wakefield. Together We Are Stronger.
