Try scorer Peter Fox says the Wildcats must keep their heads up and remain positive after a third successive loss.

Peter Fox says the Wildcats must remain positive.

A disrupted pre-season has spilled over into the start of First Utility Super League XIX with Scott Anderson, Pita Godinet and Matt Ryan arriving just days before the kick-off and both Jarrod Sammut and now Nick Scruton joining in the last fortnight.

It has meant the Wildcats squad have had minimal time together to build combinations but have shown glimpses in the opening three games.

Fox crossed for a try on the back of an intercept from Godinet and made some good defensive plays to prevent certain tries on what was a tough afternoon for the boys from the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

“I’m very disappointed about today’s result,” said Fox.

“We’ve got to keep our heads up and keep positive.  It was obviously a really disappointing scoreline but we’ve got to get it out of our systems and look to Catalans next Sunday.

“We’ve got some additions now which is good and that’ll pick us up in training next week.  We’re a new team so we’ll grow together and I’m sure once we get that first win it’ll really boost our confidence.

“Winning is a habit and so is losing.  We don’t want to be in that habit and we’ve got players in our squad who can score tries and players that can carry the ball hard.  We’ve just got come together, get the combinations right and then who knows.”
