The Wildcats have signed the vastly experienced Lee Gilmour on a one-month loan deal.
36-year old Gilmour arrives from Castleford Tigers with Trinity missing the likes of Dean Collis, Jimmy Keinhorst, Reece Lyne, Taulima Tautai and Ali Lauitiiti through injury whilst Jacob Fairbank has completed his loan spell from Huddersfield Giants after limping off early in the defeat to Warrington Wolves.
Richard Agar also faces the prospect of being without Chris Annakin as he faces the RFL disciplinary panel on Tuesday evening to answer a grade D charge of a dangerous throw on Roy Asotasi.
Gilmour is yet to feature in 2014 for Castleford but arrives at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium with a wealth of experience gained during his 246 Super League appearances at Wigan Warriors, Bradford Bulls, St Helens, Huddersfield Giants and the Tigers.
Gilmour will train with the Wildcats for the first time on Wednesday and Agar was glad to add to his options ahead of a key period of the season.
“We’re pleased to get Lee in at a time when we’ve picked up a number of injuries,” said the Wildcats head coach.
“He’s a player with a lot of big game experience and I know he’s bursting to play at the moment so will be an asset for us.”
Gilmour could make a home debut when the Wildcats host London Broncos on Friday 13th June (kick-off: 8pm). Tickets are on sale now for the game priced at £10 adults, £6 concessions and kids for a quid.
