Fourteen junior teams from five amateur clubs have signed up to be part of the celebration of rugby league ahead of the Wildcats game with London Broncos (kick-off: 8pm).

Five amateur rugby clubs will be part of the celebration of RL at the London game.

Eastmoor Dragons, Stanley Rangers, Thornhill Trojans, Shaw Cross Sharks and Dudley Hill will all be represented from age groups ranging from under 7′s to under 12′s, taking part in a pre-match rugby festival before the First Utility Super League meeting of the Wildcats and London.

It all forms part of the celebration of rugby league in Wakefield event from 5pm that evening, of which the amateur rugby festival will play a significant part.

James Stephenson of the Wakefield Trust commented: “We’re delighted that so many junior teams will be a part of what should be a special night for them as they get to follow in the footsteps of some famous players to have played at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

“Junior amateur clubs are where the vast majority of professional players start out at various stages of their childhood and without the hard work and commitment that these clubs do then there wouldn’t be the players for professional clubs to pick from.

“We want to celebrate that aspect of rugby league in Wakefield ahead of the London game and we’re sure it’ll be a fitting way to do that.”

You can join us in the celebration and the big game with tickets priced at just £10 for adults, £6 concessions and kids for a quid when purchased on or before 5pm on Thursday 12th June.

Tickets can be purchased at the Ridings Centre Store, the Rapid Solicitors Stadium Box Office or by calling 01924 201548/211611.
