Reece Lyne paid tribute to the Wildcats ability to fightback on two occasions to claim a famous victory over Wigan Warriors.
Trinity haven’t got the better of the Warriors since the opening day of the 2009 season when a Dave Halley brace at a snowy DW Stadium got that campaign off to the perfect start.
Lyne was the match winner with his try three minutes from time and was thrilled to mark his return from injury with a brilliant victory.
“(It’s) two back-to-back wins now and we’re feeling good,” said Lyne. “We really dug in because they scored three back-to-back tries where we didn’t see the ball. But the effort and the toughness of the boys to stick in there is a credit to the boys.
“No matter what team Wigan put out they’re always going to be a good team. They put 40 points past Salford and they hammered Widnes. Any Wigan team they put out is going to be a strong team so we knew we had to start well and go set-to-set. We went a bit away from that but once we went back to it we got the result.”
