The capacity of the Rapid Solicitors Stadium has been increased to 7,258 in time for Sunday’s game against Wigan Warriors.
It is a second significant increase in recent weeks and comes following a further barrier inspection carried out by Wakefield Council.
The capacity was restricted to 5,333 ahead of the start of the 2014 campaign but was increased to 6, 133 ahead of May’s meeting with Warrington Wolves. Further increases are expected between now and the end of the current season.
Wildcats Chairman, Michael Carter commented: “This further increase to the capacity is obviously a welcome one, particularly with some big home games coming up including against Wigan on Sunday and Leeds Rhinos on July 4th.
“A lot of the work done has been carried out by volunteers who gave up their time during the winter months and I once again thank them all for their devotion to the cause, it couldn’t have been done without them.”
