KIRMOND RETURNS TO 19-MAN SQUAD

posted on 17 July 2014

Wildcats captain Danny Kirmond is in line to make his return from injury against Catalans Dragons on Saturday after being named in the 19-man squad.

Danny Kirmond could return from injury on Saturday.

The skipper has missed the wins over Widnes Vikings and Leeds Rhinos with an ankle injury picked up late in the draw with Hull FC but returns for the trip to France having taken part in full training this week.

Kirmond’s return is one of two changes to the squad with Jarrod Sammut recalled having spent recent weeks on dual registration at Featherstone Rovers. Andy Raleigh and Chris Annakin are the two men to drop out of the 19-man squad, with Raleigh having also travelled to France with the rest of the squad this morning.

Daniel Smith remains ruled out with a knee injury that could sideline the prop for a further three weeks with Pita Godinet a long-term absentee, also with a knee injury.  James Webster told press at his weekly media opportunity on Wednesday that Dean Collis has an outside chance of returning to face Huddersfield Giants at the start of August having started running on grass this week.
