WEBSTERS THOUGHTS AHEAD OF TETLEY'S FESTIVE CHALLENGE

posted on 18 December 2014

Six new signings for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are named in the squad for the Tetley's Festive Challenge against Leeds Rhinos on Boxing Day.

Mickael Simon, Lopini Paea, Matty Ashurst, Craig Hall and Jacob Miller are expected to be in the starting line up alongside Ian Kirke who will be facing his former club, the Rhinos. Academy star Tom Johnstone is set to be in the side after his well earned call up to the first team squad.

Head Coach, James Webster is happy with how his side are prepared for he fixture after a positive pre season training camp in Wales last week.

He said, "We are looking forward to the game, it has been a good fixture over the 10 or so years, people really like going and watching the game."

"It is probably more of an important fixture for our new players; it is highly likely that  the six new signings will feature in the Boxing Day fixture. It's going to be their first taste of playing for Wakefield but I think the boys are looking forward to the game."

"We want to field our strongest side possible without putting anybody at risk, so there are a couple of people who are not in the team after picking up a few niggles."
