WEBSTERS THOUGHTS ON THE FEATHERSTONE GAME

posted on 12 January 2015

Wakefield Trinity Wildcats head coach, James Webster has mixed emotions on the back of the victory against local rivals Featherstone Rovers yesterday.

He said, "We were very scratchy, I think 20 minutes in the second half we only had two sets of the ball and we dropped them both times, we have ironed a few things out, our try lines looked better than when they did at Leeds but we know we need to do better than that."

"I thought Craig Hall, showed us why we bought him, he's not only a good goal kicker but he can finish off some try's for us, there are more positives than negatives but realistically we need to be better."

"I liked Chris Annakin when he came on, I thought he carried the ball really strong, Chris has improved in the off season, it is a very popular position we have got in the front row we have got quite a few but he put his hand up and we will definitely get a run against Hull now with that display in our next friendly."

Scruton and Riley were the only injury worries after being taken off early on in the game, Webster continued, "Scruts wasn't too bad, it was precautionary, if it was a game he would have probably gone back on, but he is sore now. Chris Riley pulled his groin a little bit that's why he came off; it wasn't a plan for him to come off."
