Matt Ryan has expressed his disappointment in missing out of round six of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup v Leigh Centurions on Sunday.

The back- rower will miss the game through suspension said, “It’s pretty frustrating that I won’t be out there with the boys. But, we have got a good side here, so I am confident that we are going to go through to the next stage.”

James Webster’s squad beat local side Halifax 44-16 to sail through to the sixth next round; two of the tries came from Ian Kirke who had returned from injury. The team will be hoping of a repeat performance to find themselves in the hat for the quarter-finals of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

Ryan continued, “It will be a good for the boys if we can reach the next round. It does not matter who we face, as long as we get to the next level, whoever we get will be a good game.

“I will also be available for selection then, so I am pretty excited.

“It will be a big boost if we can get to Wembley, we need the confidence. Everyone’s confidence is a bit down but this is a different competition. It is a fresh start for everyone, it is important that we get some confidence going into both of the competitions.”
