Wakefield Wildcats’ suffered defeat at the hands of Huddersfield Giants on Sunday after a dominant effort by the red, white and blue.
Trinity kept themselves within reaching distance of a victory, but were not strong enough to stop the Giants gain the fourth spot of the Super League. New signing’s Scott Moore, Bill Tupou and Lee Smith all made a positive impact with Smith adding to the scoreboard.
Head Coach, Brian Smith was pleased with his side saying, “I thought it was a good performance, the second half in particular, it was exactly what we were looking for. If we had just finished it a little better we could have won the game. We certainly had dominance in the second half, I even told them at half time that we were not far off where we wanted to be.
“We competed with them really well, initially it was Brough’s perfection in kicking and incredible skills, we weren’t quite smart enough to deal with that, we got a little better as the game went on in dealing with it, but it was just the penalties that overloaded us, we couldn’t withstand them.”
