Here is a guide to the Super 8s :
The regular First Utility Super League season came to an end on Sunday and now the league has been split into two parts; The Super 8s and The Super 8s The Qualifiers.
The Super League The Qualifiers is the part where Wakefield Trinity Wildcats come into play. The bottom four clubs of the Super League and the top four clubs of the Championship will go into a mini league known as The Qualifiers, the points will revert back to zero and all eight clubs will face each other once starting from the 6th August.
As Wakefield finished 12th in the season, it means we will have three home games and four away games. Looking at the standings in the table Wildcats’ will face Widnes Vikings, Bradford Bulls and Halifax at Belle Vue Stadium, and then will travel to Hull KR, Leigh Centurions, Salford Red Devils and Sheffield Eagles. Dates and times will be determined when the fixtures are released at 10.15am on Wednesday.
The top three clubs at the conclusion of the Super 8s are guaranteed Super League status the following season, leaving the 12th place to be decided. The teams that have finished in fourth place and fifth place will go into the Million Pound game which will be played at the home of the fourth placed club to determine the 12th spot!
Season ticket holders will get into the three home fixtures for free when showing your ticket; junior swap tickets are also available. Ticket information including hospitality will be announced on Wednesday once the fixtures have been revealed.
