Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are proud to confirm the signing of Bill Tupou from Canberra Raiders.
Tupou joins the club from Canberra Raiders until the end of the season, and will be eligible for selection vs. Huddersfield Giants on Sunday.
The 25-year-old who can play centre or wing started his career at the New Zealand Warriors, making his debut in 2010. He made 62 appearances before joining Canberra Raiders in a mid season switch from the Warriors in 2013. Bill has scored 22 tries in the NRL and was selected in the New Zealand squad for the 2011 Four Nations. He represented the Tongan National side in 2014 in the Test against Papua New Guinea.
Tupou has spoken about his move to the Wildcats saying, “I am extremely excited about the opportunity I have here at Wakefield Trinity. I want to help the club remain in Super League and will give my everything to try and make that happen’.
Michael Carter said, “I am delighted to welcome Bill to the club he will provide a much needed competition in the centre position. I am looking forward to seeing him in red, white and blue.”
The club also announce that back-rower Matt Ryan has left Wakefield Trinity Wildcats with immediate effect, the club would like to wish Matt the best of luck for the future.
