LEIGH V WAKEFIELD MATCH PREVIEW!

posted on 21 August 2015

Round 3 of the Super 8s Qualifiers sees Wakefield Wildcats travel to Leigh Sports Village to face Leigh Centurions. Kick-off 3pm.

The Wildcats are looking for a repeat result of last week, as Brian Smith's men beat Bradford Bulls 48-18. Meanwhile, Leigh will be smarting from their loss away at Salford and will see tomorrow afternoon as a chance to get off the mark in the Super 8s Qualifiers.

Brian Smith makes three changes to his 19-man squad from last week, with Ali Lauitiiti, Pita Godinet and Chris Riley in contention. They replace Andy Yates and the injured Scott Moore and Richard Owen. As for Paul Rowley, he leaves Adam Higson out of the squad and replaces him with Jonny Pownall. Mathias Pala is also left out of squad with Greg Worthington back in contention.

The last time these two sides met was back in May in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup. Trinity raced into 22-0 lead but a great fightback from the Centurions in the second-half saw them edge the Wildcats out, winning 36-30.

The 19-man squads are below:

WILDCATS: Anderson, Arundel, Ashurst, Godinet, Lauitiiti, Lyne, Miller, Molloy, Mullally, Riley, Scruton, Simon, Sio, L. Smith, T. Smith, Tansey, Tupou, Walker, Washbrook.

CENTURIONS: McNally, Pownall, Dixon, Barlow, Brierley, Emmitt, Beswick, Worthington, Spencer, Wilkes, Ridyard, Haggerty, Higham, Armstrong, Moimoi, Hopkins, Acton, Kay, Aspinwall.
