WILDCATS V HALIFAX PREVIEW

posted on 18 September 2015

Round 6 of the Super 8s Qualifiers sees Wakefield Wildcats host Halifax at Belle Vue on Saturday 19th September. Kick-off 6pm.

The Wildcats are eager to respond from last weekend's disappointing defeat against Widnes Vikings but face a tough task against an in-form Halifax side, who are on the back of a 34-12 win over Leigh Centurions.

Brian Smith makes five changes to his 19-man squad; Youngsters Jordan Crowther, Max Jowitt and Tom Johnstone are all in contention for a spot in the side and Smith also drafts in Anthony Walker and Andy Yates, who were left out last week. Chris Riley has picked up a slight injury in training which will keep him on the sideline tomorrow evening in what is the final home game of the season.

The Wildcats last faced Halifax in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup back in April, when Trinity stormed to a comfortable 44-16 victory.

The 19-man squads are named below:

WILDCATS: Annakin, Arundel, Ashurst, Crowther, Godinet, Johnstone, Jowitt, Lauitiiti, Miller, Mullally, Scruton, Simon, Sio, L. Smith, Tansey, Tupou, Walker, Washbrook, Yates.

HALIFAX: Ambler, Bracek, Cahalane, Divorty, Eccleston, Fairbank, Heaton, Johnston, Kaye, Maneely, Manning, Moore, Murrell, A. Robinson, C. Robinson, Saltonstall, Saxton, Tangata, Tyrer.
