Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are pleased to announce that Chris Annakin has signed a one-year extension on his contract.

Annakin who is a product of the Wildcats' Academy has signed a one-year extension on his contract which will see him at the club until 2016.

The back-rower signed his first full contract at the club back in 2010, this came after a fantastic 2009 in the Academy that was successful in the Valvoline Cup. The following season Annakin impressed enough to be offered a two-year contract which kept him at the club until the end of 2013 and he has continued to earn himself a place at the Wildcats.

Chairman Michael Carter is delighted with the signing, "I am really pleased that we have managed to agree a new one-year deal with Chris. Chris has come through our Academy, supported by the Club 1873 lottery, and his display in the Million Pound Game was fantastic despite him not knowing at that time where his future was.

"We look forward to Chris carrying on that form next season. You can join Club 1873 today, to help find the future generation of club stars by contacting, Jonathan Schofield on"
