Wakefield Trinity Wildcats are proud to announce the signing of half-back Liam Finn.
The 31 year old has signed a two-year deal from Super League side Castleford Tigers, which will see him in the red, white and blue jersey until 2017.
Finn previously had a stint with the Wildcats back in 2004/05 during the start of his professional career before he moved to Championship side Featherstone Rovers. He made history in the sport, setting a new world record of 41 consecutive goals whilst at the Rovers. Finn later joined Dewsbury Rams for a few years before moving back to Featherstone Rovers in 2010.
The Irish international made a return to the Super League back in 2013 when he signed a deal at Castleford Tigers guiding them to a top four finish in 2014 and into fifth place in 2015.
Finn was pleased to be able to return to the club saying, “I spoke to Michael, Brian and Stu Dickens and I really liked what they had to say and what they thought about me. I want to come back and put a few wrongs right from the last time I was here as it didn’t really work out for me when I was younger.
“I’m looking forward to working with an experienced coach like Brian, it will be interesting to see what he does differently to other coaches. I’m hoping that my role as half back will add some organisation and control into the side and will hopefully get the best out of the team moving forward.”
