Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ Mika Simon will lead France out in their International against England on Saturday.
The club are thrilled to hear the announcement that Mika Simon has been called up to lead out France in their international fixture against England tomorrow (Saturday). The 28-year old has been given the role as Captain by head coach, Richard Agar after Theo Fages has been ruled out the fixture with an injury.
Mika Simon has said, “It is a great honour to be called up as Captain, I am really enjoying my time playing with in the French side, it is the first time for me to be able to represent my country. I don’t feel too much pressure, I am just going to go out there and enjoy myself, and I’m excited to be able to play against England.”
Chairman Michael Carter is elated with the news saying, “It is fantastic that Mika has been called up to lead out his country. He had a brilliant season for us and this is recognition of all the hard work he has put in.”
Head Coach, Brian Smith has said, “Mika’s recognition as captain is wonderful news. For Mika, it is a great acknowledgement for his achievements this season.”
The fixture will take place at Leigh Sports Village, Saturday 4th October, kick-off 2pm.
