MOLLOY SIGNS NEW TWO-YEAR DEAL

Back-Rower, Jonny Molloy has signed a new two-year deal at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Molloy who joined the club back in 2013 from Super League side Huddersfield Giants has signed a new two-year deal to stay at the Wildcats until 2017. The 24-year old came through the Wigan Warriors youth set-up before joining the Giants in 2011. Unfortunately he suffered a serious knee injury which hindered his playing career at the Giants.

Earlier this season, Molloy had a short stint on loan at Sheffield Eagles, since his return he has made 13 appearances scoring three tries before picking up an ankle injury towards the end of the season.

Molloy is pleased to have the deal put in place, “I am really happy to be extending my time with Wakefield for another two years. I have really enjoyed playing under Brian Smith.

“I am looking forward to getting back to work in pre season and stamping down a starting position.”

Brian Smith said, “Jonny Molloy’s resigning for the Wildcats was based on his series of outstanding Super League matches soon after my time began as a coach. Free of injuries in 2016 after a big off-season of work, we expect Jonny to become an important contributor to our success.
