Ben Shulver puts pen to paper making a return to the Wildcats.
Shulver, who came through the Academy ranks at the Wildcats back in 2013, has signed a two-year deal which will see him at the club until 2017.
The 22-year-old prop made his debut at the Wildcats in the 66-6 victory over Hemel Stags in the fourth round of the Challenge Cup back in 2013, this came after he signed his first professional contract at the club. In September 2014 when his deal was at an end, Shulver made the move to Australia to play in the NRL.
Shulver has now made the return back to England and the Super League where his career started in red, white and blue.
He has spoken about his delight at returning to the Wildcats, saying, “I’m looking forward to getting back out there on the pitch. Wakefield Wildcats is like home for me, I have been here since I was 15 going through the Scholarship and Academy and when I got the opportunity to come back, I jumped at the chance.
“I only left last year, but there seems to be a lot of new faces around the club, so I am looking forward to working with them and with Brian as well. I did enjoy my time in Australia but it was very different to what I expected, having to work as well as playing made me realise how much I enjoyed the game and I wanted to push myself harder.”
