TIGERS V WILDCATS - ROUND 2 PREVIEW

posted on 13 February 2016

Tomorrow afternoon sees the Wildcats make the short journey over to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle to face local rivals Castleford Tigers. Kick-off 3:30pm.

Brian Smith's men are looking to respond from the 16-24 defeat against Widnes Vikings in Round 1 last week but face a tough Tigers team who are looking to improve on their draw with Hull Kingston Rovers in Round 1 and come up with the spoils tomorrow.

The Tigers are boosted by the return of influential forwards Andy Lynch and Nathan Massey to their 19-man squad. The only change in Trinity's 19-man squad sees former Castleford threeqaurter Ash Gibson replace Chris Annakin. Jason Walton is also hoping for a call up to the match day squad, having featured in the 19-man squad in Round 1.

Last season's fixture at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle was one to remember for the Wildcats fans! A late try from Danny Washbrook sealed a 22-24 victory after coming back from 22-6 down early in the second-half. You can see the highlights at the bottom of this article!

The 19-man squad's in full are:

TIGERS: Dorn, Monaghan, Webster, Solomona, Roberts, Gale, Lynch, Milner, Millington, Holmes, McMeeken, Massey, Jewitt, McShane, Cook, Moors, Hampshire, Crooks, Maher.

WILDCATS: Jones-Bishop, Johnstone, B. Tupou, Gibson, Miller, Finn, Scruton, England, Kirmond, A. Tupou, Lyne, Arona, Ashurst, Arundel, Molloy, Sio, Anderson, Howarth, Walton.
