WAKEFIELD V WIDNES - ROUND 1 PREVIEW

posted on 6 February 2016

Our eagerly awaited first game of the 2016 First Utility Super League season is finally here!

Tomorrow afternoon sees Wakefield Wildcats entertain Widnes Vikings at Belle Vue Stadium, kick-off 3pm.

Brian Smith's men will be looking to get off to the best possible start against a strong Vikings side who are looking to better their 9th placed finish in 2015, this time around. Widnes won both league fixtures against the Wildcats in 2015 as well as coming away with the spoils in the Super 8's Qualifiers fixture. However, a new look Trinity squad will be eager to put that right tomorrow afternoon.

Wakefield are without Scott Moore, who is sidelined with a bicep injury, and Mickael Simon, who will miss the fixture with a lower back injury.

New signings Ben Jones-Bishop, Liam Finn, Anthony England, Anthony Tupou and Tinirau Arona are all in line to make their first Super League appearances in the Red, White & Blue.

The 19-man squad's in full are:

WILDCATS: Jones-Bishop, Johnstone, B. Tupou, Miller, Finn, Scruton, England, Kirmond, A. Tupou, Lyne, Arona, Ashurst, Arundel, Molloy, Sio, Anderson, Howarth, Annakin, Walton.
